April,15--Consumers advised to look for CE Mark.
Fake and potentially hazardous Teletubbies products have been seized from market stalls in Norfolk, according to a number of reports.
Tests have shown the items contain dangerous levels of lead and chromium, and have been removed from sales points by Norfolk County Council Trading Standards officers as investigations into their supply continue.
Trading Standards has advised consumers to dispose of the items and to look for the CE Mark on future purchases.
"The Lion Mark, found on some packaging, should mean it is made by a member of the British Toy and Hobby Association and shows that it meets current safety standards and that the age rating is the safe age for the child to use the toy," a spokesperson from Trading Standards said.
